The Hatching by Keane

The rock was on the beach. It was smooth and circular. It was huge.

I was walking on the beach with my golden retriever when suddenly

Out of nowhere, an oddly shaped object came down from the sky. They went into the sand with a loud thump creating a little crater. The rock was on the beach. It was smooth and circular. It was huge probably bigger than the biggest boulder. I wondered if it was an alien spacecraft or, or an ginormous egg or an asteroid. “I should ring the authority shouldn't I scooter” woof he barked back at me and ran up to the rock and growled at it there was definitely something weird about that rock. I snatched my phone out of my pocket and dialed the emergency services beep boop boo “hello what emergency service do you need” all of them, something just fell out of the sky “they'll be there soon” 5 MINUTES LATER eeeeeeeeooooooooeeeeeeoooo they were here “where’s the problem” in that small crater I said. They looked down into the crater and talked to each other well have to tape it off and get some scientists down here they said in a quiet voice, then they turned back to me and told me I should stay away from the huge boulder “I said to them that that's okay” it nearly squashed me flat. But when I got home I tried to have a sleep but I couldn't without knowing what's inside so I raced down the stairs, chucked on my jacket and slammed the door behind me I had hired a forklift for heavy lifting and moving I jumped in, started the engine and the forklift and it trundled down the road I made it to the rock they had taped it off with yellow tape I drove the forklift through the tape and picked up the rock and drove it home when I placed the rock in my garage there was a crash I’d cracked it when I got out of the forklift and run over to the rock there was a big claw sticking through the rock it was hatching CCCCCCCRRRRRRRAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKK a huge head popped out it was a dragon it stepped out bent down and bit off my head.
