Today Virginia Best who is a waitakiri park ranger from the council came to talk to us about birds and their predators and introduced pests with Rm22, Rm7 and Rm8. We learnt that the most endangered Gull was the Black Billed Gull, the fastest NZ bird is a NZ falcon (also known in maori as kareakarea).
Did you know that the endangered Ruppell's griffon vulture is the highest flying bird ever recorded the height that it can reach is 37,000 feet that's the average height at which a airplane travels.
